The 350th stage of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge was dedicated to San Miguel-based Salvadoran Primera División side Club Deportivo (CD) Águila.
Of course we got some wonderful black-and-orange designs for Negronaranjas, perhaps with more variety in style than we’ve ever seen before, but that wasn’t the full story.
The voting page definitely requires perusal, as we only have time for one honourable mention - we’ve chosen to give it to MrCOYS for a hugely original take on quarters - and the designs that bagged raffe a bronze medal and fayed a silver are, respectively, very raffe and very fayed, and see amazing things done with black and orange.
However, the winning design, from Ajourlo, was intended as an Away, and orange makes way for pink - to spectacular effect.
We don’t think we’ve ever seen the wingspan of an eagle used as a contrast chevron before, but it makes for an absolute work of art, and it achieved a win in its subversion.
