One of the many charming aspects of the Kit of the Week challenge is the possibility, as happened with the Bologna edition, of shared glory.

No extra time, no penalty shootouts - though tie-breakers have their place elsewhere - if the voting delivers an equal score, then, like two opposing captains holding the Charity Shield aloft (ask your parents), honours really are even.

We’re going to be frank, sometimes a club featured in the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW) is in desperate need of a badge overhaul, and South Africa’s Roses United FC are one such example.

While the “Keep On Keeping On” motto adds a certain charm - and brings to mind Streatham Rovers’ “#NeverStopNotGivingUp” - the image surely can’t be enhanced by something so crudely produced.

A little while ago, Western Sydney Wanderers were featured in the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly, and earlier this year it was Melbourne’s turn for the limelight, by way of WSW’s A-League rivals Western United FC in the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge.

A young club with a striking palette of green and black (with white), this particular United’s colouring was seized upon by the members, populating the stage with a variety of styles and methods.

In the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW), we have a mix that includes high-profile clubs and relatively obscure sides.

South Korea’s Gangwon Football Club, who play in the K League 1, fit into the latter category on the world stage, but the palette of their branding and iconography made for an excellent edition of our challenge.

The 238th edition of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge was centred on recently crowned Thai League 1 champions Buriram United.

With such a distinctive and well-known main sponsor, it’s perhaps unsurprising that many people get Everton FC vibes from “Thunder Castle”’ shirts, so it was nice to see so many entries in this stage which couldn’t for a second be confused with an outfit for the Merseysiders.

Belarus’s PR is not currently in the healthiest shape, but there is a national football team - representing the Football Federation of Belarus, or “Беларуская федэрацыя футбола” - and that qualifies to be featured in our Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW).

In fairness, when stage number 289 was announced, Belarus wasn’t quite the persona non grata it’s widely regarded as now, and though we’ve certainly had more popular chapters of CRCW, the range of styles we got in this one neatly showcases the talents of several of our members.
